The Journey of Varta

From Dialogue to Impact. From Vision to Movement.

Varta began with a simple yet powerful belief — that meaningful dialogue can shape a better future. What started as a youth conversation platform soon evolved into a growing movement of changemakers committed to peace, sustainability, and inclusive development.

Organised by the Global Youth Peace Committee (GYPC), Varta was envisioned as a space where young leaders, educators, policymakers, and social innovators could come together to exchange ideas, address pressing challenges, and co-create solutions rooted in empathy and action

Varta – The Beginning

The first edition of Varta laid the foundation. It brought together passionate youth voices determined to build bridges across communities and disciplines. The focus was clear: promote peace, encourage collaboration, and empower young leaders to take ownership of social change.

What made the first Varta special was its authenticity. It wasn’t just a conference — it was a conversation. Participants engaged in open dialogue, shared lived experiences, and explored how grassroots action could align with global development goals.

The impact extended beyond the event itself. Networks were formed, partnerships were initiated, and youth-led initiatives gained renewed direction and confidence.

Varta 2.0 – Expanding the Vision

Building on the momentum, Varta 2.0 deepened the engagement. The second edition introduced structured thematic discussions, skill-building workshops, and cross-sector collaboration opportunities. The conversations became more solution-driven, connecting policy ideas with on-ground implementation.

Varta 2.0 emphasized leadership, innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility. It strengthened the bridge between youth energy and institutional support, enabling participants to transform dialogue into tangible impact.

The platform matured into a collaborative ecosystem — where NGOs, academic institutions, CSR leaders, and youth ambassadors worked together toward measurable change.

Varta 3.0 – Lighting Up, Live Together!

This year, Varta enters a new chapter.

Varta 3.0 builds upon the legacy of dialogue and impact, aligning youth leadership with Vision 2047: Viksit Bharat. The focus expands toward policy dialogue, climate action, digital inclusion, peacebuilding, and sustainable development.

As India looks toward its centenary of independence, Varta 3.0 positions youth not merely as participants, but as architects of national progress.

My name is Alexa Young

Dear Members, Supporters, and Partners

It is with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude that I address you on the 7th Foundation Day of the Global Youth Peace Committee (GYPC). Today, we celebrate not merely the passage of time, but a powerful journey of purpose, partnership, and progress in advancing peace, unity, and youth empowerment.

Over the past seven years, GYPC has evolved into a vibrant platform for young changemakers. Our growth stands as a testament to the dedication of our members, volunteers, partners, and supporters who have worked tirelessly to transform vision into action.
